For starters…
I get really excited when I see students find their hidden artist and reclaim their creativity through Zentangle®.
I live in Vernon, CT, and really enjoy my life. I am all about having fun and doing what I love. How does it get any better than that? Oh, and by the way, I am an extremely proud mother of two grown sons, who are a source of love, joy, laughter, and gratitude.
I am a CT licensed massage therapist (LMT) and have a private practice in Vernon, CT. I was on the faculty and staff at the massage therapy school in CT until 2011 when, after nearly twenty years at the school, I retired.
In addition to massage therapy and energy bodywork, I find teaching to be very rewarding. I started when I was a child holding “classes” for my brothers and am still teaching today. I teach classes in Access Consciousness Bars™, Access Body Processes™, and now Zentangle®.
Finding Zentangle…
I was in a nationally-known craft store waiting to pick up a picture that I had framed. To pass the time I was pursuing the books and my eye went to “Zenspiration®” by Joanne Fink. Having been a calligrapher, I was intrigued by Joanne’s book and went home to “Google” Zentangle.
I started learning from the YouTube tutorials and books. When I was teaching music, I found that people who taught themselves to play an instrument often developed bad habits that impeded their progress and were difficult to break. I decided that it was in my best interest to take a Zentangle class to make sure I wasn’t creating any bad habits.
From taking the class to becoming a CZT
I took a Zentangle class and I was hooked. What I learned in that workshop was that Zentangle is much more than just creating a pretty little piece of art. I found a way to create that was satisfying and relaxing.
I decided to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and share the Zentangle method with others so they can find their own inner artist. I was fortunate to become part of the last seminar in 2013. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. While I was there I met people from all over the world with the same love for Zentangle. I couldn’t wait to teach my first class and share what I learned with others.
