Laura Harms, the Diva who creates the weekly challenges, coined the term “Duotangle.” It means that you are to use only two tangles and their tangleations throughout the tile. This week’s challenge is to use Cubine and Pokeroot and their variations. Nothing more, nothing less.
She also posted a link to Margaret Bremner’s tutorial on variations for Cubine. It is AWESOME! If you haven’t already looked at this tutorial it is well worth the time to do that. Thank you Laura and Margaret for the inspiration.
This is my tile for this week:
The first Cubine is larger than I usually do it, just to see what it would look like. The second was straight out of Margaret’s tutorial. I LOVE this tangleation and I’m sure it will pop up again in my tiles!
I enjoy the drama of putting an aura around Pokeroot and then filling in the background a solid black, although I see a section that shows a bit of the white tile. Oh well, I’ll fix it after I post this blog. 🙂
I am definitely going to play with more of the Cubine tangleations Margaret shows in her tutorial. I am really intrigued with doing Cubine in a triangle.
Now that I have submitted my tile I am going to Laura’s blog to see how others interpreted the challenge and to pick up ideas of other ways to use these two tangles together. I hope that you will look at the submissions and find inspiration too.
Thank you for visiting my blog. And as always, I really appreciate your comments – they are so supportive and encouraging. Thank you!!!!!!!
Until next time,
Sending smiles,
Maureen
