Using the New Official Tangle, “Zenith”…

The Diva  is baaaaaaack.  While taking some much deserved time off this summer, Laura had talented CZTs posting the challenge, but she is back with this week’s challenge.

This week we were asked to use the newest official tangle called, “Zenith.”

I was going to use it as a border and then decided to see what it would look like if it were larger and the focal point of the tile. Next time I will probably  go over the aura with a Micron 08 like I did with the curved portion of the tangle. This is an interesting pattern.

I was in a discount store and saw tri-colored pencils by RoseArt, called, “Color Swirl.”  I find tri-colored pencils to be enchanting and this set was inexpensive so, of course, I had to buy them.  New toys!   Yahoo!!!!!!

One of the things I like about using tri-colored pencils is that they eliminate the decision about what color to use next.  Tri-color pencils have three colors swirled together so by turning the pencil every two or three strokes you see another color.  The colors that appear on the paper are spontaneous and unpredictable, which I love.

For this tile I abandoned my Prismacolor pencils so I could try one of the Color Swirl pencils. They were not the easiest to color with because they are so hard, but for the price they are fine.  I just used more layers to get the color to show.  I like the pastel shades that the pencil produced and I had fun using them!

Here is my tile:

This summer when streaking by. Having time to spend some one-on-one time with each of my sons was wonderful, even though I wished that I had more time to be with them.

Last month I attended the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) National Convention in Pittsburh, PA, as a delegate to the House of Delegates (HOD).  In addition to the work at the HOD, we take classes while we are there and this year the classes I took were exceptionally good.  Our keynote speaker was the Olympic skater, Scott Hamilton.  What a dynamic, down to earth, inspiring human being who has faced so many challenges in his life and has come out on top!  When he came on the stage he was welcomed with a standing ovation.  When the din calmed down he said, “I know what you’re thinking.  Yep, I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, ‘I thought he would taller.’  Right?”  (He is 5’3″.)

And now I am back home trying to catch up on all the work that I put on hold while I was off enjoying my children and the convention…and I’m semi-retired so you wouldn’t think it would take me that long, right?  Wrong.  I don’t know how I did all of this and worked 40 – 50 hours a week!

When I am feeling that life is flying by I rationalize that it means that I am busy with things I love. (…well, mostly love.  I still don’t love or even like housework!)  If I were bored, each day would feel like it were a month long. So I count my blessings and enjoy life instead of thinking about how fast it is going.

Posting my tile signals that it is time to see how others used the tangle, Zenith.  I hope you will take time to  view the tiles at the Diva Challenge blog  and find them as inspiring and educational as I do.

As always, I am grateful to all who leave me comments and if you leave a comment I will leave a response. Fair enough?  🙂   Your comments are a great source of encouragement and support.  To those who left comments last time, a huge THANK YOU!

Until next time,
Sending smiles,
Maureen
