Laura Harm’s youngest son, Artoo, has Moebius Syndrome, which is a congenital nerve disorder affecting the nerves controlling the lateral movement of his face. She explained that this is not a disease and it does not affect his intelligence. As a matter of fact, Artoo is very bright. If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he will tell you that he wants to be a paleontologist! He is four and a half. Wow! Did you know what a paleontologist was when you were four?
This year the Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day (MSAD) is Saturday, January 24th. If you are able, would you be willing to wear purple that day to show your support for MSAD?
For this challenge, Laura asked us to use the Moebius Syndrome Foundation’s logo as our string and if possible incorporate the color for MSAD, which is Purple.
This is my tile for this week. The scan did not pick up on the actual colors of the time. It is really more purple than it looks:
Tangles used: Avreal and ‘Nzeppel
Colored using: Prismacolor pencils, Koh-I-Noor Magic pencils and Irojiten pencils.
The biggest challenge was to draw the Moebius logo.
I recently received an early birthday present from my dear friend, Donna – 24 Knor-I-Noor Magic pencils. They are tri-colored and subtlety change colors as you change the direction of the tip. I had a set of five before. Now that I have so many more colors I am having so much fun!
I encourage you to look at what others are submitting by going to the Diva Challenge.
A huge THANK YOU to Dorita. I am happy to say that you can now leave a comment, if you choose to do that because Dorita figured out what I needed to change to make this happen! Dorita, I really appreciate your willingness to work with me on this puzzlement.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I would be delighted if you left me a comment. And, a huge thank all who have left comments in the past. I appreciated the efforts and emails from those of you who tried to leave me a comment the past few weeks and a thank you to those who were able to leave a comment.
And I hope you consider joining the subscribers of my free online The Tao Of Tangling Newsletter, published six or so times a year
Until next time,
Sending smiles,
Maureen
